Washington Matron Is Heart Victim
Mrs. Harriett M. Martin, 70, a resident of Opportunity, Wash., died of a sudden heart attack at 10:35 a.m. Saturday at the home of Mrs. Alfred Stebbins, Rt. 3, with whom she had been visiting.
She had been a guest at the Stebbins home the last two weeks. Mrs. Stebbins was a niece of Mrs. Martin.
Mrs. Martin was born May 12, 1884, at Duncombe, Ia., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Simpson. The family came to Billings from Duncombe in 1905, moving to the Spokane, Wash., area in 1927.
Mrs. Martin was a member of the Methodist Church. Her husband, William Martin, died in April, 1953. She leaves one stepson, Richard Martin, in the U.S. Navy; two brothers, Bert Simpson of Duncombe, and Charles Simpson of Bridger; one grandchild and several nephews and nieces.
The body will be taken to Opportunity where funeral services will be held. The body is at Smith's Funeral Home.
