Ashcroft Rites Slated Saturday
Funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the F.D. Sweet & Son chapel here for Mrs. Helen Marie Ashcroft, 82, who died Monday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. P. Howard. The Rebekah order of which she had been a member for many years will attend the services.
A native of Stettin, Germany, Mrs. Ashcroft had lived in the middle west for a number of years before coming to Orland 22 years ago to make her home with her daughter.
Surviving her are four daughters: Mrs. Bess Greenwood, Chico; Mrs. Josie Howard, Orland; Mrs. Ada Gates, Orland and Mrs. Edna Lawrence, living in Kansas, and one son, R. L. Ashcroft, of Orland. There are also 22 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Interment will take place in the Odd Fellows cemetery here, following the services at the chapel.
