Published in The Paducah Sun, Paducah, McCracken Co, Ky., 23 Aug 2013, BARDWELL — Edgar Glen Yates, 86, of Bardwell passed away at Lourdes Hospital Tuesday, August 20, 2013.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

He was a member of Bardwell United Methodist Church. He served in the United States Army during World War II as a staff sergeant earning a World War II Victory Medal. He worked as a procurement manager at Union Carbide and later Martin Marrietta. Mr. Yates was chairman of and served on the Board of Directors of Bardwell Deposit Bank for many years. He was a member of Ballard County Country Club, an avid golfer, and enjoyed traveling the world. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Evelyn Milwain Yates; his daughter-in-law, Tina and husband Cooper; his granddaughter, Christin and husband J.R.; and step-grandchildren, Kevin and Tina.

Mr. Yates was preceded in death by his son, Glen Milwain Yates; his parents, Jesse "Bub" and Thelma Hudson Yates; and his sister, Helen Webb.
