Those left behind to cherish their memories of Richard are his dad, Jerry; two daughters, Laci Ransom and Brooke Ransom; one brother, Brian Ransom; a future grandchild; a huge extended family and many, many friends. Richard was preceded in death by his grandparents and his Mom, Marcia Ransom who passed away on May 27, 2007.
Richard worked in the maintenance department at Double-S Liquid Feed Services. He was a down to earth man who was known as a jokester, and he liked to spend time outside mowing the lawn. He loved to hunt mushrooms and fish. You could often find him at one of the local ponds. Richard enjoyed cooking as well, and his specialty was chicken and noodles with mashed potatoes. He was an avid supporter of the Green Bay Packers and St. Louis Cardinals. For the short period of time our Richard spent with us, he touched many hearts and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 pm on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown. A celebration of Richard's life will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home with Pastor James Blue officiating. Cremation Rites will be accorded following the funeral service.
Memorial contributions may be made, in Richard's name, to the American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association.
