MISHAWAKA-Catherine Bruce, 72, passed away at 7:50 PM Saturday, July 27, 2013 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, IN. She was born on November 19, 1940 in Mishawaka, IN to the late Otto F. and Agnes I. (Wartha) Kronewitter and remained a lifelong resident. On August 3, 1957 in South Bend, IN she married Norris A. Bruce, who survives.
Along with her loving husband, Norris; she is also survived by her daughter, Elizabeth "Beth" (Richard) Schneider of Granger; her son, Ken E. Bruce of Mishawaka; five grandchildren, Ashley Bruce, Andrew Bruce, Leah (Michael) Thoma, Kyle Schneider and Luke Schneider; two sisters, Arlene (Bill) Myers of Mishawaka and Loretta Kronewitter of Phoenix, AZ; and three brothers, James Kronewitter of Effingham, IL, Paul (Elaine) Kronewitter of Rolling Prairie and Richard (Sandy) Kronewittter of Edwardsburg. Her sister, Delores Kronewitter and brother, Phillip Kronewitter, both preceded in death.
Catherine worked for 19 years in Home Health Care. She loved to cook and loved her animals, especially her pet dogs. Catherine was an avid fan of NASCAR racing and Notre Dame football.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 10 AM until time of services Thursday. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka, IN.
