She was a daily Bible reader and believed mightily in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Sara was born in Waycross, GA Pierce County. After her mother's death she and her family moved to Florida around 1927 and her dad lived and worked in and around Groveland, FL. Her father weeded around orange trees and did odd jobs for a living. Three cents a tree was his pay.
Sara was a member of the Groveland, FL 1938-39 basketball state champions. She worked in Groveland for Edges Hardware in her teens. She learned to sew and made all of her own dresses.
Sara married Lyman S. Parker in 1942 as he prepared to go overseas to WWII. They would be married for 51 years.
Sara was preceded in death by her father and mother, Thomas R. Tuten and Fannie Belle Tuten (Dean). Her husband Lyman S. Parker passed away in 1993.
Sara is survived by her children, Lynda Goodman (Jerry) of Ocala, FL, and Bill Parker (Debbie) of Goddard, KS. Seven grandchildren, Terry L. Viness (Rhonda) of Marietta, GA, D. Scott Viness (Joy) of Acworth, GA, Carl L. Parker (Wendy) of Palm Coast, FL, W. Mark Parker (Audra) of Cumming, GA, Jason S. Goodman (Jennifer) of Dallas, GA, Sarah High (Daniel) of Wichita, KS and Susan Mayfield (Don) Shawnee, KS. And sixteen great-grandchildren, Morgan Jordan (Alex), Jacob Viness, Z.P. "Bo" Viness, Brock Viness, Andrew Goodman, Emily Goodman, Jessica Parker, Jakob Parker, Londen Parker, Jade Parker, Cody Parker, Bethany Mayfield, Quincy Mayfield, Noah High, Billy High, and Baby High. Sister Mary T. Matthews of Conyers, GA and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by many, many beloved friends both in GA and in On Top of the World, Ocala, FL. She will be missed.
