JJ "IJ" Lacey, of Ashridge, entered into rest at his home July 27, 2013.
He worked many jobs in his life, a welder, logging and worked as the tool room maintenance man for Southern Homes prior to his retirement. IJ was a member of Pleasant Hill #2 Baptist Church for 40 years. He sang bass in the gospel group "Southern Praise" in the 90's and loved witnessing to others about the love of God.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Patricia Kay Gray; grandson, Christopher Kyle Lacey; mother, Ollie Ward; and father, Chester Lacey.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 29, 2013 from 6-8pm at Pleasant Hill #2 Baptist Church in Double Springs, where services will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 2pm. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Nichols Funeral Home is directing.
