Mrs. Doris Bagwell Strickland, 84, of Ozark, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 27, 2013 with family by her side. Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Friday, August 2, 2013, from Chalkhead Baptist Church with Reverend Tommy West officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Friday in the church from 9:30 A. M. until service time. Mrs. Strickland was born October 10, 1929 in Ozark, Alabama. Doris was a devout member of Chalkhead Baptist Church. Everyone who knew Doris knew that she was a loving Christian woman that had a great love for young people and she dearly loved her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Strickland, Sr.; her parents, William and Mamie Bagwell; four brothers Ralph Bagwell, Robert Bagwell, Ray Bagwell, and Roy Bagwell; three sisters, Ruby Whitman, Norma Pippin, and Lois Harrer. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Marion Strickland of Panama City, Florida, David and Rebecca Strickland of Ozark. Six grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive. The family extends a special thank you to her caregivers Mary and Joan. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Chalkhead Baptist Church, 495 County Road 35, Ozark, Alabama 36360; or the Alzheimer's Resource Center, P. O. Box 1170, Dothan, Alabama 36302.
