Catherine M. Teachman, age 89 of Tannery Hill Rd. in Osceola, Pa passed away on Friday, July 12, 2013 at the Hershey Medical Center. Born June 29, 1924 in Canisteo, NY, she is the daughter of the late William and Elsie (Puffer) Thompson. She married Douglas Teachman, he passed in 2003. She served in the Women's Army Corp during WWII and was a lifelong farmer. Catherine was a member of the Osceola Presbyterian Church, Sylvina Womens Organization and a former Grange member. She volunteered for many organizations, was an avid reader, enjoyed doing puzzles and loved to mow her lawn. She is survived by her sons, Walter and Michele Teachman of Anderson, SC and John and Robin Teachman of Osceola, PA; her daughters, Janet Walker of Tioga, PA, Marion and Mark Young of Mt. Joy, PA and Celia and John Dixon of Anderson, SC; grandchildren, Jeff (Nancy) Teachman, Kasey (Travis) Dunham, Dawn (Jerry) Werner, Tiffany (Mike) Constable, Mark (Terry) Baker, Karen (Daryl) Long, Tony (Marcy) Rachiele, Thomas Rachiele and Erin (Darrell) Jackson; 19 great grandchildren; a brother, Theron (Phyllis) Thompson of Osceola, PA; two sisters, Ruth Schwabe of Wellsboro, PA and Patricia (Louis) Duretto of Wellsboro, PA and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas; her son, Rick; grandson, Jamie Walker; granddaughter, Kimberly Rachiele; two brothers, Gerald and William and a sister, Hattie Cook. Family will receive friends at Kenyon Funeral Home, 214 W. Main St., Elkland on Tuesday, 6:00 – 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
