Phyllis Jean Benson, 88, of Londonderry, passed away 8:30 p.m. Tuesday February 16, 2021 at her residence following an extended illness.

She was born March 2, 1932, to the late Otho and Audrey Wills. On May 1, 1954, he married Donald “Red” Benson who survives.

Also surviving are a son, Roger Benson, of Waverly; a grandson, Jon (Wendi) Benson, of Hendersonville, NV; a granddaughter, Crystal Benson, of Stoutsville, OH; 5 great grandchildren, Layla, Caden, Henry, Ronin Danger and Kylie; sisters, Margie Drake, of Londonderry and Bernadine Wilson, of Jackson; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Marshall and Eliza Baum and Andrew and Nancy Corcoran. She was predeceased by a son, Jerry Benson; a daughter, Melinda Benson; a sister, Pauline Triplett; and brothers-in-law, Hugh Wilson and Robert Drake.

Phyllis was a long time member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.

A private funeral service and calling hours will be held for family. Pastor Chris Brown will officiate the service. A private burial will be in Londonderry Cemetery.
