John G. Bahn, 81, of 304 Fourth st., Liverpool, a retired clerk in the freight department of the New York Central Railroad, died last night at his home following an illness of one week.

Mr. Bahn was the father of Chester B. Bahn of Malverne, L.I., dramatic editor of the Syracuse Herald-Journal for many years and now editor of the Film Daily in New York City.

Born in Liverpool, he had resided in Syracuse for a short time and has resided in Liverpool since 1917.
Previous to his retirement 11 years ago, he had been employed at the New York Central freight house for 35 years.

Besides his son, he is survived by another son, Harold K. Bahn of Liverpool, his wife, Mrs. Minnie Saile Bahn; three brothers, Henry, Philip and William Bahn of Liverpool; four sisters, Mrs. John Sommers, Mrs. Anna Bretzer, Mrs. Emily Schamu and Miss Lena Bahn, all of Liverpool; three grandchildren, Lt. Gilbert S. Bahn, A.A.F., stationed on Luzon; Lt. Chester B. Bahn ,Jr., A.A.F., stationed in Greenville, S.C, and Jerrold P. Bahn of Malverne, L.I.

Private funeral services will be conducted at his home Friday at 2 p.m., the Rev. John H. Dudde will officiate. Burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery.
