William A. Grochan, 71, of 755 State Fair Blvd., Lakeland, a native of Solvay, died yesterday in his home after a long illness.
He was a mechanic for Continental Can Co., retiring in 1962 after 30 years of service. He was a member of United Steelworkers of America, Local 3342.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Grace Lothridge Grochan of Lakeland; two sisters, Mrs. William White and Mrs. Vincent Jordan, both of Fairmount; a brother, Henry Grochan of Richmond, Va.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Delaney and Greabell Funeral Home, 241 Kinne St., East Syracuse, the Rev. Douglas Hudgston officiating. Burial will be in Jacksonville Cemetery, Lysander.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the William Grochan Memorial Fund of the Community Methodist Church of Lakeland.
