Stephanie was a 2005 graduate of Huntsville High School and was going to attend Auburn University that fall. Stephanie was a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Silver Circle and the Huntsville High Soccer Team. Stephanie was a faithful member of Willowbrook Baptist Church and the Sunday morning Bible study. Stephanie was a gifted athlete who excelled in every sport that she played. She enjoyed playing softball, basketball and volleyball, but her love was soccer. Stephanie scored 35 goals in 2005 to set a new HHS career scoring record at 117 goals. She won five consecutive AYSA State Championships, attended four consecutive USYSA Region 3 Tournaments and won three AHSAA State Soccer Championships. Stephanie was named to the Super All State Soccer Team for 3 consecutive years. She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Adcox of Huntsville, and Mr. John T. Boyd Jr. of Charlotte, N.C.; two brothers, Brandon Boyd of Birmingham, and Travis Adcox of Huntsville; three sisters, Leah Adcox Waldrop of Huntsville, Kathryn Boyd of Birmingham, and Jennifer Adcox of Birmingham; grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. J. Gilbert Parrish of Memphis, Mrs. Carolyn Hawkins of Lewisburg, Tenn., and Mr. and Mrs. Willard Adcox of Tampa, Fla.; and greatgrandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John R. Parrish of Boynton Beach, Fla. Stephanie was also blessed with 17 aunts and uncles; and 32 cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Thomas Hale Hawkins. Visitation with the family was from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Willowbrook Baptist Church. The funeral followed visitation with Kenny Ladner and John Stone officiating. Interment is at Maple Hill Cemetery. Dusty Fowler, John Michael, Bradley Futch, Kyle Wooden, Chuck Ashcraft, Ben Graham, Kevin McCurry and Andrew Townsley served as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Stephanie Boyd Memorial Scholarship c/o The Bank, P.O. Box 108, Huntsville, AL 35804. The scholarship will be awarded annually and is under the direction of Mr. Jim Saunders.
