Albert Rodney Bacon

Albert Rodney Bacon, 89 of Paragould died Friday, Nov. 14, 1997, at Arkansas Methodist Hospital.
He was born Nov. 13, 1908, at home at 6934 Bradley Avenue in St. Louis. He was the seventh of ten children born to Henry and Ethel Robinson Bacon and the first of the ten children to live beyond seven years of age. He was retired from the Missouri-Pacific Railroad and of Methodist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Bacon of Paragould; three sons, Charles Bacon of Dayton, Ohio, Jim Bacon of Piggott and Bill Bacon of Hot Springs; two daughters, Carolyn Watson of Columbus, Ohio, and Melba Campbell of Lakeland, Fla., two brothers, Frank Bacon of Riverside, Calif., and Allen Bacon of Shelton, Wash.; a sister, Edith Jernigan of Bakersfield, Calif., 14 granchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould with Everett Isom officiating. Burial will be in Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 6 tonight at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Wallace Jackson, Gene Widmer, Ken Watson, Clarence Barron, Bill Hunter, and Gussie Broyles.
Honorary pallbearers will be Don Butler, Wilson Martin, Johnny Mangrum and members of the Missouri-Pacific Railroad Retirees Club.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Shriner's Hospital.
