Hazel was just four years old when her mother passed away from childbed fever after her 4th child. Her Grandmother Matilda Joy Lindholm Frisk (who was widowed) came from Missouri to help her son, leaving about six weeks later taking the new baby (Grace Margaret) with her. Leaving Hazel, her older brother (Ray Edward) and kid sister (Vera Ellen) at home. Her father then married Ruth Decamp (who was only 17) with in a year and the kids were with them a short time, but got passed to other family members, with Vera going later to her grandmother at around 5 years old, Ray and Hazel being passed from Aunts and Uncles until in their teens.

In 1934 she had her son Dale L. Frisk. Then on April 5, 1935 she married Merritt Raymond Woodson. To this union four children were born. They are;
David LeRoy Woodson, Vera Lousie Woodson, Paul Raymond Woodson, Buddy Merritt Woodson and Veola May Woodson.

Merritt pasted in 1987 leaveing her a widow after 52 years of marriage.

At her passing she had lived in Modesto for over 50 years,
was a homemaker who loved baking, crocheting, and reading, and a member of Celebration Center.

She was survived by all of her children, her brothers Ray Edward Frisk, Clifford Frisk, Clarence Frisk and Clyde Frisk. 25 Grandchildren, 61 Great Grandchildren and 21 Great-Great Grandchildren.
