FOLEY--Roy Herbst, 70, died Saturday at St. Cloud Hospital. Funeral services for Roy Herbst will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Catholic Church, Foley, with the Revs. Robert Harren and John Kroll officiating. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Duelm.

Friends may call after 4:30 p.m. today at the Foley Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be at 8 tonight at the funeral home, followed by Knights of Columbus Office of the Dead at 8:30.

He was born April 3, 1913, in St. George Township, Benton County, to the late William and Clara (Kampa) Herbst. He married Loretta Jaeckels on May 14, 1935, in Duelm and lived and farmed in St. George Township all his life. He was a Benton County commissioner for more than 14 years, past director of the Federal Land Bank Association of which he was a member for 24 years, member of the Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation Board, past St. George Township Board member and member of Bishop Marty Council of the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife; children, Richard, Foreston; Mrs. Val (Lenore) Udermann, Brooklyn Park; Mrs. Albert (Betty) Janson, Sauk Rapids; Jim, Monticello; Mrs. Denis (Jeanette) Rahm, Foreston; Mrs. Bill (Jan) Spiczka and LeRoy, Foley; David, St. Paul; Ron and Duane, Foley; 62 grandchildren; seven children: brothers and sisters, Ervin, Stacy; Mrs. Clarence (Alma) Kowarsch, Clear Lake; Leonard, Ernie, Carroll and William Jr., Foley; Mrs. Dorothy Tomporowski, St. Cloud; Mrs. Joe (Clara) Tait, Arizona; and Mrs. Ray (Lucille) Zeibol, Minneapolis.
