Bessie McBride, 93 of East Main Street, St. Clairsville, Ohio died Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at Forest Hill Retirement Center, St. Clairsville.

She was born in Hamburg, Germany on January 21, 1913 a daughter of the late Adolph and Louise Krafka Dundr.

Bessie was a former employee of the St. Clair Animal Hospital, a member of the First Presbyterian Church at St. Clairsville, Bridgeport Chapter # 452 Order of Eastern Star and Mizpah Temple of the White Shrine of Jerusalem.

Bessie dearly loved her family. Her favorite pastimes were feeding birds, baking...especially cinnamon rolls, and watching football and politics. Anyone who visited her at home always left with baked goods.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Benjamin A. McBride; stepchildren David McBride and Dorothy Pyle; a sister Emma Bouska and brothers Frank, Ralph, Joe, Albert and James Dundr.

She is survived by a son, John Amos (Doris) McBride of Centerville, Ohio; a daughter Mary Lou Kanopsic of Belmont, Ohio; grandchildren Clay McBride, Pam Miner and John Kanopsic; great grandchildren Mary and Brittany and a special friend, Jenny Rohland.

Friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. with Eastern Star services schedule for 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 11 a.m. to time of services at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Joe DiDonato officiating.

Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.

Memorial contributions may be made to Valley Hospice, 132 Peters Run Road, Wheeling, WV 26003.
