Mr. Atherton passed away at the age of 62, as a result of lung cancer. His parents were the late Harold Starr and Margaret (Gillett) Atherton, previously of Pleasant Ridge. He graduated from Ferndale High School in 1968. He served in the U.S. Army, and was in Belgium and Bien Hoa, Vietnam. He later relocated to Denver and graduated from Metropolitan State College as a C.P.A. He and his loving wife were married in March of 1975, in Denver. He will also be missed by his two sisters. He was also survived by his former wife. Military honors will be done. .fjl28.
