Linda Karriker Robertson, 66, of Mooresville, completed her earthly journey on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at home.

A celebration of Linda's life will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, July 28th at First Presbyterian Church, 249 West McLelland Ave, Mooresville, NC. The family will host a reception immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.

Born on April 21, 1947, in Mooresville, Linda was the daughter of the late Julius Horace and Bessie Hager Karriker.

Linda married the love of her life Johnnie Lee Robertson on December 17, 1966. They have two daughters, Jennifer and Heather. Linda was a wonderful wife; she was a proud mother and grandmother.

To her four grandchildren she was "MeeMaw" and their most devoted supporter. It was her greatest joy to applaud Caroline's performances and be on the sidelines to cheer on Camille and Cameron at their athletic activities. She realized her dream to share Cardin's first hug with Mickey Mouse at Disney. Naturally gifted, Linda enjoyed decorating, entertaining, painting, gardening, and singing. She graciously shared her talents with her family, friends, church, and community. Her grandchildren have inherited her multiple talents. Linda delighted in creating and giving beautiful treasures to her family and friends. A lover of plant life, she nurtured hundreds of flowers and landscaped beautiful gardens. Her stunning daylily gardens at her mountain home were her pride and joy. Relaxing moments spent rocking on the front porch with a view of her gardens and the mountains of the Jefferson National Forest were a perfect way to spend the late afternoon. Most Saturday nights in Virginia found Linda enjoying music and fellowship at the local community center. During the first week in August, Linda would gather with family and friends at Rock Springs Camp Meeting to hear gospel music and make homemade ice cream. Linda was a devout Christian. A part of her witness was her delight in singing with church choirs and laughing with girlfriends at Monday Night Circles at Centre and Shearer Presbyterian Churches. Linda was dedicated to her work as office manager at Case Farms in Troutman and developed
lasting friendships having worked there for over thirty years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother John Karriker, sisters Betty Caldwell and Charlie Cook, sister-in-law Ann Karriker, and brothers-in-law Bill Fish and Bill Caldwell.

She is survived by her husband Johnnie Robertson of Mooresville, her daughters Jennifer Robertson of Canton, and Dr. Heather Robertson White and her husband Marty and their children Caroline, Camille, Cameron, and Cardin of Charlotte. She is also survived by her seven brothers and sisters and their families: Mary Fish of Mount Mourne; Jack Karriker of Huntersville; Bob Karriker and wife, Mary Lou of Statesville; Patty Stewart and husband, Kenneth of Mt. Mourne; Teddy Karriker and wife, Dorothy of Bulls Gap, Tennessee; Carol Pennell and husband, Darrell of Mooresville; Max Karriker and wife, Shirley of Mooresville; sister-in-law Shirley Karriker (John); and by her mother-in-law Edna Hager Robertson; brother-in-law Harold Robertson and wife Martha; sister-in-law Elizabeth Robertson Gilstrap and husband James; family friend Laurin Baker; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Linda Karriker Robertson Memorial Fund through First Citizens Bank of Mooresville, 241 Medical Park Road, Mooresville, NC 28117. Contributions from this fund will be made to various non-profit organizations that Linda held dear to her heart. Memorial gardens will be established through Linda's Lilies at locations that were so much a part of her life.
