Stanley was a stockbroker for Hilliard Lyons 20 years, retiring in 1977. He also owned Suzanne's, a chain of women's clothing stores in Southern Indiana.
He was a 1928 graduate of Indiana University, lettered in baseball and was a member of the I.U. Emeritus Club. He founded the Loogootee Lions Club and was its first president. He also was a member of Delta Upsilon fraternity.
Survivors: wife Dorothy; sons Thomas J. Wolfe, Richard S. Wolfe, both of Indianapolis; daughter Suzanne Hering of San Francisco; brothers Robert Wolfe and Dr. V.B. Wolfe; sister Zoa Walz.
