She was born Saturday, June 3, 1944 in Harrison, Ohio, the daughter of the late Charles Cook and the late Cora Valentine Smashey.
Carolyn enjoyed cooking, camping, boating, collecting boos and automobiles. She loved to decorate her home, making everyone feel welcome who visited there. She loved people from all of the many friends and family that she sold Avon to through the years, to surrounding her self with family. She will be missed by everyone that knew her.
Surviving are her husband of 39 years, Wayne Andrew McClanahan of Aurora, IN; sons: Troy (Lisa) Johnson of Aurora, IN; Jeff Johnson of Aurora, IN, Shane (Jennifer) Johnson of Florence, KY; sister, Alice "Janie" Crist of Aurora, IN; many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Loretta Graf.
Friends will be received 12 noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, Aurora, Indiana.
Services will be held at Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 2 p.m.
Interment will follow in the Riverview Cemetery, Aurora, IN.
