Leslie V. Tibbits, 92, of Osage died Wednesday, January 1, 1997, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Care Center, Osage, of natural causes. He was born May 27, 1904, on the family farm west of Osage, the son of John and Ellen (Clark) Tibbits. He attended rural schools. Leslie married Elsie Rosensweig on February 26, 1933, in LeRoy.
They lived in the Osage area. Elsie died in 1982. Leslie was employed by International Harvestor as a farm implement mechanic.
Funeral services were Saturday, January 4, at the Champion Funeral Home, Osage, with Rev. John Bates officiating. Burial was in the Osage Cemetery.
Survivors include a daughter, Bonnie Bly, and husband, Ervin, Osage; two sons, Wayne Tibbets (Tibbets is spelled correct for Wayne) and wife, Nancy, of Evansdale, IA; John Tibbits and wife, Priscilla, Bloomington, MN; nine grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Elsie, two brothers and three sisters.
