Which is correct, died in 1760 or 1761?

Thanks to Pamela Matteoni for the gravestone transcript and the following information:
Birth Place: Bellingham, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, USA
Death Place: Woodstock, Windham County, Connecticut, USA

The transcript of the gravestone brought clarification concerning Patience's year of birth. Given that, according to the transcript, she died in 1760 in the 56th year of her age, she was 55 years old at the time of her death. Thus she was born in 1705. A person was in the first year of age when the age was measured in days, weeks, or months. The day after reaching one year old, the person was in the second year of his or her age.
