Mar was my Grandmother. We called her "Mar", short for Marion, but up until after she passed away, we didn't know her real name.

She was a great cook, made all the holiday dinners, especially the Turkey and mashed potatoes. We all love mashed potatoes and I think it's because of her.

She was a singer and dancer back in the day and she would sing songs with a beautiful melodic Angel. My Mom, Lucile, said she could sing "Silent Night" like nobody else. We wish we had that recording.

There were window seats and one of them would lift up and there was a record player inside. She had so many records. 33's and 16's. We would play them and sing along and it was so much fun.

She always had candy in the candy jar and some of them were not so good, but the best were the butterscotch and peppermints, Papa loved the peppermint ones.

She passed away unexpectedly, it was sad. I had a doll that she bought me for Christmas, I got it after she passed, I took it everywhere with me. You could turn it upside down and it would say "Mama" and it would crawl too.

Great memories and lot's of love in my heart for her.
