Benjamin William Myers, Jr., age 82, of Union Bridge, Maryland, died peacefully on Friday, July 26, 2013 at Brinton Woods Health Care Center in Sykesville, following a lengthy illness.
Born May 27, 1931 in Carroll County, he was the son of the late Benjamin W. Myers, Sr. and Vallie (Heiner) Myers.
Ben was a special guy who enjoyed participating in the Senior Inclusion Program in Westminster for many years. He loved the program coordinator Charlene Fischer and all others who worked with him.
Ben is survived by brothers and sister-in-law John T. Myers and wife Cindy of Union Bridge, who were also his special caregivers, Harold E. Myers of Libertytown; sisters-in-law, Edith, Mary, and Dolly Myers all of Libertytown. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers, Roland, Lyman, and James F. Myers.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster with Darlene Gobrecht, Lay Leader, Reisterstown Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Westminster. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
