Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Angela Handley, 43, of Lubbock from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2013, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 29, 2013, at Bacon Heights Baptist Church. Our beloved Angela went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 25, 2013. She was born on July 9, 1970, to Stephen and Drilma (Boozer) Handley in Lubbock and graduated from Coronado High School. She received a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a master's degree in adaptive physical education from Texas Tech University. Being a lifelong learner, Angela continued her education and received a second master's degree in school principalship from Wayland Baptist University. Her passion was children and she worked as a diagnostician for the Lubbock Cooper ISD. She also taught classes at Wayland Baptist University. Angela was a member of Bacon Heights Baptist Church, the Singing Women of West Texas, and TEDA. In Angela's spare time she enjoyed cross stitching. She was preceded in death by her father, Stephen Handley, on May 22, 1978; her maternal grandparents, Zemry and Florence Boozer; and paternal grandfather, Joseph Handley. Survivors include her mother, Drilma Handley of Lubbock; a brother, Brian Handley and wife Vicki of Coppell; two nieces, Ashlee and Hunter Handley; paternal grandmother, Cathryn Handley of Tahoka; numerous uncles, aunts and cousins and her cat, Sassy.
