Charles was the son of Charles Wesley and Helen Maria (Haines) Keith Sr. Charles resided at 87 South Chapel St., Newark, Del. prior to enlisting in the Army. He served as a Private First Class, Company B, 10th Armored Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II. He was killed in action in Irsch, Germany and was awarded the Purple Heart. He had served in the Army for one year and seven months at the time of his death.
