Services for Mrs. Georgia Godbee Perry, age 95, will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, July 29, 2013 at Marie Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Bobby Hutto will be officiating.
Mrs. Perry was born on June 1, 1918 in Sylvania, GA. She was the daughter of the late George Godbee and Florie Ophelia Kirkland. Mrs. Perry lived in the Laurens County area since 1937. She passed away on July 26, 2013 at Serenity Hospice of Dublin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Perry, Sr.
Mrs. Perry was a faithful member of Marie Baptist Church for 76 years having joined the church in 1937. She was an active member of the Faith Sunday School class and had taught as a Sunday School teacher as well as serving in various capacities in the church during her life. She enjoyed traveling and sharing stories about the placed she had traveled to. Mrs. Perry died as the oldest member of Marie Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Red Hatters Club as well as the Woodmen of the World. She was a homemaker and ran the Perry Dairy Farm for many years.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Sunday evening at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Marie Baptist Church Building F
