Enos was the husband of Adeline (Miller) Shaner. His parents were Daniel and Mary Ann (Hoff) Shaner. He was a machinist and invented a key piece of equipment used in the manufacturing of paving blocks.

Note that while his tombstone has a death date of July 19, it is listed as July 15 in the Chester County Death Index. Also, his obituary appeared in the Daily Ledger on July 16th, stating that he died the day before.
