Cornelius Bernard Mahoney, of Ocean View, Delaware, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2013 at his home. Born in Washington, DC, son of father, Cornelius I. Mahoney, and mother, Dorothy A. Duffy. Sgt. Mahoney retired from the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department, Special Operations Division after 20 years service and is a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. He is survived by his loving family, wife, Marie; children Kevin (Eileen), Elizabeth (DJ), Maureen, Daniel (Meg) and Shaun (Julie); grandchildren Heather, Liam, Margaret and Nora. The family will greet friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services on 38040 Muddy Neck Road in Ocean, View, Delaware. Mass held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Saint Ann's Catholic Church, Ocean View, Delaware. In lieu of flowers, please donate in memory to the American Cancer Society.
