Joan M. (Everling) Hubbard, 80, of Williamsport, died on Sunday, June 30, 2013, at her residence.
Joan was married to the late Paul E. Hubbard on April 16, 1951, and they celebrated 58 years as husband and wife until his death on Nov. 12, 2009.
Joan was born in Forks Township on Oct. 27, 1932, and was the daughter of the late Daniel J. and Anna (Peregrin) Everling. She was a 1950 graduate of Sullivan County High School. She worked at H&R Block as a branch manager, Weldon's Manufacturing, Herrington Dairy, Flag Car Driver and doing independent tax service. She retired from Penn College where she had done payroll and bookkeeping.
She was a member of the Christian Church, Cogan Station, where she was part of the Welcome Center, Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 321 Williamsport; past Worthy Matron, Order of Amaranth; past Matron, Zafar Grottoettes; past President, DBWA Williamsport, Red Hats Society; Williamsport, Christian Woman's Association, and past President of KSFE Farms of Sullivan County. Joan was avid in crocheting and in 2012 she was a Blue Ribbon Winner at the Lycoming County Fair. She had enjoyed bingo, camping card clubs, word puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren.
Joan is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law; Roger N. and Penny Hubbard of Duboistown, David L. and Ellie Hubbard of Williamsport and Paul J. Hubbard of S. Williamsport; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; one brother, Daniel G. Everling and two sisters, Delores A. Boerner and Rita H. Everling. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Glenn L. Hubbard and one sister, L. Kathleen Deiter.
There will be a public viewing from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at the Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira St., Williamsport, with a service by the Order of Eastern Star at 12:45 p.m. Everyone is to meet at Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery, at 2 p.m. for the graveside service on Wednesday. There will be a memorial dinner from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Zafar Grotto, 381 E. Second Ave., South Williamsport, 17702.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kathryn Candor Lundy Breast Health Center, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
