Mr. Porter passed away on Friday, July 26, 2013 at his home.
Joe was born June 24, 1929 in Cache, Oklahoma to Joe E. Sr. and Edith Mae (Caywood) Porter. He married Jo Ann Smith in Decatur, Texas on February 24, 1955. He was employed by Southwest Coffee for ten years, starting in high school. He was then employed by Town and Country Mobile Homes for a short time. After leaving there he opened Joe Porter Mobile Homes, which he owned and operated for over forty five years.
Survivors include his wife of the home Jo Ann Porter; three sons, Steven G. Porter, Jeffrey S. Porter and his wife Sandy and Larry G. Porter, all of Lawton; one grandson; four granddaughters; seven great grandchildren; and numerous family members.
Mr. Porter was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Laveta Landry, Pearl Cyr and Linda Foster.
The family will greet friends from 6-8 pm Monday, July 29, at the funeral home.
