Manus Hoopman, an old pioneer of this county, died at the home of his son Joe Hopeman Friday, January 19, 1917, aged 86 years. Deceased was born in Holland in 1831 and came to America with his young wife 48 years ago. In 1873 he moved onto the old homestead in Carimona township where he resided until the time of his death. The remains were consigned to rest in Greenleafton Cemetery Tuesday. Five children survive. The wife died about 12 years ago. Deceased was highly respected and enjoyed the confidence of all who knew him. Posted to Ancestry.com 1971
