Albertine "Betty" (Tucker) Dodge, 80, died Jan. 15, 2009 at Valley Medical Center in Renton, Wash. She was born Sept. 19, 1929 in Paragould, Ark., to Lewis and Ola Mae (Daniels) Tucker.
At the age of 19 she married Wilburn O. Dodge Sr. on Feb. 17, 1948 in Jonesboro, Ark.
She moved with her husband, a schoolteacher, to Young, Ariz. in 1967. They remained there for more than 35 years.
She moved to Portales, N.M. and then to Seattle, Wash., residing with her daughters until her death.
She is survived by her brother, Bufford (Bonnie) Tucker of Paragould, Ark.; five children, Karen Melot of Corona, Calif., Brenda Dean of Portales, N.M., Wilburn Dodge Jr. of Phoenix, Deborah (Alan) Martin of Covington, Wash. and David (Nancy) Dodge of LaMotte, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 24 at the Young Baptist Church in Young.
A memorial was held Jan. 22 at Edline-Yahn & Covington Funeral Chapel in Kent, Wash.
