Kimball grew up in Delta and Springville, graduating from Springville High School in 1936. He attended BYU and received a B. S. Degree. He later received an M.B.A. from The University of Oregon and furthered his education at Stanford University. Kimball served in the U. S. Navy during WWII and was stationed in the Pacific Theater. After his return from service, he taught Business Classes at BYU. He later accepted a position at Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company in San Francisco and later transferred to New York City where he worked for AT&T and retired after 28 years of service.
Kimball was an active member of the LDS Church and served faithfully in many callings during his life. He enjoyed gardening and was always giving of himself to others.
Kimball is survived by his wife Beth of Pleasant Grove; four children: Janice (LaVar) Clegg, Scottsdale, AZ; Dean (Sun) Sorenson, Salt Lake; Annena (Stephen) Brown, Sunnyvale, CA; Marc (Betsy) Sorenson, Los Gatos, CA; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sister, Dawna (Arvil) Banks, Salt Lake and brother, Samuel Sorenson, Salt Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Inger Nuttall and brother, Woodrow.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 2, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the Pleasant Grove Stake Center, 275 East 500 South, Pleasant Grove where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery. Funeral directors - Olpin Family Mortuary, Pleasant Grove.
