SHERMAN - Services for Steve Gene Griffin, 46, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 29, at Waldo Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Russell officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Steve passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Texas Health Presbyterian-WNJ.

Survivors include his wife, Carol V. Davis of Sherman; son Steven Aubrey Griffin of McKinney; mother Shirley Bishop of Sherman; and brothers Gary Griffin of Sherman, Greg and Mark Griffin of Anna.

The family will receive friends from 6 -8 p.m. Sunday at Waldo Funeral Home.

SHERMAN - It is with our deepest sorrow that we announce the untimely death of Steven Gene Griffin, 46, who passed away suddenly at 9:44 p.m., Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Texas Health Presbyterian- WNJ. Steven was born April 7, 1967 in Denison, the second son of Roddy Paul Griffin and Shirley (Bishop) Griffin.

Steven was well-known in the community as a master plumber with the family business. He decided to further his education by attending Grayson County College and earning an associate's degree as a radiology technologist in 2010. Steven loved learning and was to begin the bachelor of science in nursing program in January 2014. Many remember seeing Steven studying at IHOP and Panera Bread in Sherman on a regular basis. Steven had many passions in life and lived life to the fullest. He was a Boy Scout leader and could set-up a camp site in any weather type always in record time. Steven never shied away from any new adventure and was always willing to try something new. Anybody who knew and loved Steven, knew he had many philosophies on life. One being, "you can't spell funeral without FUN". Steven will be deeply missed as he was always kind and loving to all.

Steven was preceded in death by his father, Roddy. He is survived by his loving wife and soul mate, Carol V. Davis of Sherman; son, Steven Aubrey Griffin of McKinney; mother, Shirley Bishop of Sherman; three brothers, Gary Griffin and wife Audrey of Sherman, Greg Griffin of Anna, and Mark Griffin and his wife Jennifer of Westminster. He was also the loving uncle of Stewart, Hayden, Hannah, Brandon and Brooke. Steve was that funny, special uncle that let you do anything you wanted….really anything. He enjoyed every moment he could spend with them.

Steven's family will receive friends from 6 -8 p.m. on Sunday, July 28 at Waldo Funeral Home. A celebration of Steven's life will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 29, at Waldo Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Lee officiating. Committal services will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park with Scott Wright, Mark Griffin, Jose Pedraza, Steven Griffin, John Upton, Wylie Mitchell, Greg Griffin, Gary Griffin, Mike Stumpf, Robert Stumpf, Allen Baker Jr., Hayden Griffin and Mark Beattle all serving as pallbearers.
