Victim of
Tragedy

Charles Frederick (Fred) Six, 41-year old Jollytown resident and lineman for the Penn Lines Construction Co., was instantly killed Monday morning June 30, 10:30 in a fall from a power pole near Morgantown, W. Va.

Mr. Six, who had worked for Penn Line the past 13 years, was working at the Humphrey No. 7 mine of the Christopher Coal Co. near Morgantown, W. Va., and was at the top of the pole when the accident happened. He had thrown his safety belt around a crossarm on the pole and when the crossarm snapped in two he was plummeted to the ground. He suffered a broken neck, other spinal fractures and internal injuries. He died instantly.

A lifelong resident of Jollytown, he was a son of Charles Six, now deceased, and Mrs. Cecil Six of Waynesburg. He was born May 5, 1917 at Jollytown and was a member of the Jollytown Methodist Church.

Besides his mother he leaves his wife, Hester Anthony Six; one son, Jerry Six, aged 14, and one sister, Mrs. Mildred Kirkpatrick of Renova. One brother, Edward Six, is deceased.
