Son of Captain William Jones and Susannah Pollard.

He married 3rd, Adeline E Robinson Graves, widow of Luther Graves. They married on 24 January, 1865, Lunenburg. Adeline was the mother of 2 children, both with Luther: Fannie C. and Nelson Butler Graves.
