John L. 'Jack' Wyman
NEW PALTZ - John L. "Jack" Wyman, 87, of New Paltz died on Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Mr. Wyman worked as a principal for the New Paltz High School.
An area resident for 55 years, he was raised in New Jersey.
He was a member of the New Paltz Club, VFW Post No. 8645 of New Paltz, American Legion of New Paltz, Masons of Highland, and Shriners where he was a clown. He played Santa Claus in various locations in the area.
Born Aug. 31, 1919 in Akron, Ohio, he was a son of Caroline Oldershaw and the late William Wyman.
Survivors in addition to his mother include his wife, whom he married on May 9, 1980, Mabel Kingston Wyman; a stepdaughter, Judy Butler of New Paltz; two stepsons, Jeff Cuthbert of Accord and Keith Cuthbert of Hopkinton, Mass.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jean Wyman of New Jersey.
The funeral will be 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Copeland Funeral Home Inc., 162 South Putt Corners Road, New Paltz with Rev. Howard Major II officiating. Burial in New Paltz Rural Cemetery.
