Ila D. Reyer, 86, Manhattan, died Saturday night at the St. Francis Hospital in Topeka. She was born Nov. 12, 1911, in Olsburg to Henry and Laura B. (Nelson) Fronce, and had been a lifetime area resident. Mrs. Reyer was a cook at Kramer Food Center at Kansas State University and later cooked for a fraternity. She also had been a former longtime employee of Manhattan Laundry. Memberships included the Eagles Auxiliary in Manhattan. She married Merle G. Reyer in February 1931 in Junction City. He preceded her in death on Oct. 5, 1984. She also was preceded in death by a grandson, Robert D. Reyer; a brother; three sisters; two step-brothers and a step sister. Survivors include three daughters, Deloris Smith of Manhattan, Margey Denig of Downers Grove, Ill. and Barbara Wilson of Wamego; two sons, Donald Reyer of Manhattan and Robert Reyer of Clay Center; a brother, Clyde Fronce of Manhattan; 10 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Edwards-Yorgensen-Meloan Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in the Valley View Memorial Gardens Cemetery, east of Manhattan. A visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established for the Parkinson's Disease Foundation and may be left in care of the funeral home.
