James Patrick "Drac" Batchelor
March 11, 1940 - July 6, 2013

ELKHART - James Patrick "Drac" Batchelor, 73, peacefully passed away on July 6, 2013. He lived a blessed life and was a man who loved his family and friends.
He was born in Mishawaka, Indiana, the only child of George and Louise Batchelor, who preceded him in death. He received his Master's degree from Indiana University and was a teacher in Special Education for more than 37 years in the South Bend School District. He was a loyal and loving husband and father. He enjoyed sharing stories with his grandchildren and will be dearly missed. His passions were teaching, reading, fly fishing, cycling, target shooting, playing his guitar, and communicating with his family often. Even though he was an only child he was blessed with his lifelong friend of 73 years, Donny Kamerer. He is survived by his loving wife of 9 years, Jean; his children, Jane Larkin (Michael), Patrick Batchelor (Michelle) and Kurt Batchelor (Susan); 6 grandchildren, Nicole, Rachel, Sarah, Michael, Colin and Abigail; 3 great-grandchildren; 3 stepchildren, Sandra Crapo (Rex), Ron Lovely, James Lovely and David Lovely (deceased); 12 step-grandchildren & 9 step-great-grandchildren.

Respecting his wishes, there will be no memorial.
