Sgt. U.S. Army, Korean War-Sgt. Mangrum was killed in action by small arms fire on 11-27-1950 near Kunu-ri, North Korea while serving as a Light Weapons Infantryman with Co. F of the 2nd Battalion, 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. There was no recovery of the body.

He is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Mangrum of Tunica, Mississippi.

Awards: Purple Heart Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Korean Service Medal with One Service Star, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal.
