Funeral services for Rebecca Mason age 70 of Lamesa, TX., will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at St. John's Missionary Baptist church with the Rev. J.J. Johnson officiating. Burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
Rebecca passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021 in Midland, TX. She was born on September 12, 1951 in Lamesa, TX. Rebecca married Dudley Mason on October 15, 1976 in Lamesa, TX.
Visitation will be held at St. John's Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, December 18, 2021 starting at 10:00 a.m.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her husband, Dudley Mason; her parents, Allen and Amanda Brown; her sisters, Virgia Johnson, Mary Helen, Louise Bell, Rosie Lee Brown; her brothers, Horace Brown, Melvin Brown, James Shaw, and Charlie Brown.
Rebecca loved being around her family and friends, and enjoyed working with children. She was the Director of the Lamesa Boys and Girls Club for many years up until her retirement.
Those left to cherish her memory, her daughter, Chanelle Smily (Brandon) of Midland, TX.; her sister, Anna Brown of Arlington, TX.; her brother, Earnest Brown (Francine) of Midland, TX.; her bonus daughter, Angelia Govan (Brandon) of Midland, TX.; her bonus son, Kevin Mason (Laquita) of Mesquite, TX.; her grandsons, Deiondre Smiley of Midland, TX., and Khalil Smiley and Dominique Robertson, both of Lamesa, TX.; her great-grandson, X'zaivor Williams of Midland, TX., her great-grand-daughters, Khylie Smiley, and Khaliyah Smiley, both of Lamesa, TX.; a host of relatives, and friends.
