Jessica Hope Thacker, 27, of Bloomington, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013. She was born on September 30, 1985, in Bloomington, Indiana; she was the daughter of Kevin Thacker and Kelly Douthitt.
Jessica is survived by her mother, Kelly Douthitt (Paul Martindale); her father, Kevin Thacker; one brother, Christopher Thacker (Heather); half sister, Amanda Thacker; stepbrother, Anthony Martindale; five children, Dathon, Kaylee, Alivia, Jaylyn and Marrissa; one nephew, Gavin Thacker; grandparents, Phyllis Douthitt and Jerry and Sue Thacker; two uncles, Kevin Douthitt (Eva Lou " LouAnn") and Terry Douthitt, all of Bloomington; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Matthew Shane, and her grandfather, Dennis Douthitt.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at Allen Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Harmony Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
BODY FOUND IN WHITE RIVER THAT OF A BLOOMINGTON WOMAN
Owen County officials have released the identity of the woman whose body was found in the White River in Freedom.
Jessica Hope Thacker, 27, of Bloomington, was found by fishermen in the water just south of the Freedom bridge Wednesday afternoon.
Investigators from the Owen County Sheriff's Department and Prosecutor's Office continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Thacker's death, according to a press release from Lt. William Snodgrass of the sheriff's department.
Owen County Coroner Stan Frank did not provide an exact cause or manner of death for Thacker when contacted Saturday afternoon.
Forensic pathologist Roland Kohr performed the autopsy in Terre Haute Thursday afternoon. At that time, officials planned to use dental records and fingerprinting to help identify her.
Thacker was the mother of one boy and four girls, ranging in age from 9 to 2.
"For the most part, she was good hearted. She loved her kids and she loved animals," Thacker's mother, Kelly Douthitt, said by phone on Saturday. "She was just still a big kid at heart, you know?"
