Franklin "Dean" Wright, 83, of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at his home with his family by his side.

Dean was born December 9, 1929 in Blackfoot, Idaho to Norman R. Wright and Phyllis Clement.

He married Song Rhee in South Korea. They were married for 35 years before they were divorced. He married Clarice Novas on June 22, 2001 in Riverton, Idaho.

Dean served his country in the Navy and then in the Army for a total of 27 years. He was stationed all over the world during his military career, spending time in San Francisco working as a Harbor Master. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, dancing, collecting guns and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Dean was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He is survived by his wife, Clarice of Blackfoot; sons, Norman Dean (Susie) Wright Jr and David Wright; daughters, Shon (Steve) Angle and Sulynn Wright; step-sons, Dee Novas and Donnie Novas; step-daughters, Argean (Rocco) deVilliers and Julie Teton; seven grandchildren; 17 step-grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kandice Wright; and step-daughter, Kim Stoddard.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at the West LDS Stake Center, 101 N. 900 W. in Blackfoot. Family will meet with friends and relatives from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2013 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot and for one hour prior to services at the church.
