Otis R. Ford, 72, of Fife Lake passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 12th 2012 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. He was born October 10, 1939 in Kalamazoo, the son of the late Otis and Esther (Mathews) Ford. He was retired machinist, having owned and operated the Boardman Oil Field Machine. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of American Legion Post 219 in Fife Lake. Otis is survived by his sons, John Ford of Lowell, Indiana and Ben Ford of Crete, Illinois; two grandsons, Jacob and Matthew Ford; his sisters, Janet (Gerald) Scheppelmann of Manistee and Carol (Dale) Chapman of Kalamazoo and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Lois & John McNett. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon, June 15th at 1:30 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home with James Matthews officiating. Burial will be in the Old School House Cemetery in Brown Township.
