MSgt (Ret) James M Pennington, 68, 1602 D, died at 1:50am Sunday in Reynolds Army Hospital following an apparent heart attack. Services will be at 11am today in Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Burial with military honors will be in the Fort Sill Cemetery.

Born Oct 8, 1901, in Ripley, Miss, he entered the service on Feb 2, 1920, at Jackson Barracks, La. He retired from active duty March 27, 1947, at Fort Sill following 27 years service.

Sgt Pennington, a member of the Army Air Corps, served with the old Balloon Detachment at Fort Sill previous to World War II. He was an aircraft mechanic and line chief during his Army career.

He was a member of the Lawton Odd Fellows Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, the former Annie M Traina; two step-sons, James J Traina and Dwight E Traina; a step-daughter, Mrs. Edith E Pierce; 4 brothers, Murry, Robert, John, and Charles Pennington; and two sisters, Mimmie and Belle.
