Mrs Anna C Estes Dead
Mother of Well Known South Carolinian Passes Away in Roanoke
Roanoke, Virginia, Jan 15 [1909] - Mrs Anna Cornelia Willingham Estes died here early today after a lingering illness at the residence of her daughter, Mrs A G Chewning.
Mrs Estes was the widow of the late Rev Andrew Broaddus Estes of Barnwell County, SC. She was born, reared and spent most of her married life in that State and her remains will be taken to the family burying ground in Barnwell County Saturday.
She is survived by the following children: Elliott Estes, Spartanburg, SC; Thomas W Estes, Philadelphia; Mrs C W Hickman, Hampton, Va, A B Estes, Blackshear, Ga; Mrs A G Chewning, Roanoke; Mrs James Sutherland, Union Hall, Virginia; Mrs J R Dearth, Atlanta, Ga, and C W Estes, Cheraw, SC.
The funeral will take place here Saturday morning.
Messrs Elliott Estes and C W Estes were called here from South Carolina several days ago to the bedside of their aged mother.
