A graveside service, to celebrate the life of Robert M. "Rick" Hupp, Jr., 64, of Newark, will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Hanover Cemetery. Military Honors will be observed by the Licking County Veteran's Alliance.
Rick was born in Newark on May 17, 1949 to the late Robert M. Hupp and Rosie B. (Hoyt) Clark. He passed away at his residence on July 23, 2013 while surrounded by family.
Rick graduated from Licking Valley High School, Class of 1968. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Viet Nam War. Prior to retirement, he worked in quality control with Owens-Corning for 36 years. He was a member of the G.M.P. Local #244 Union. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, playing softball and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his two daughters, Ricki Lynn Hupp and Kelsi Hupp, both of Newark; grandchildren, Alexa and Austin; brothers and sisters, Chuck (Brenda) Hupp, Ruby (David) Bush, Diane (Glenn) Johnson, all of Newark, Virgil "Chip" Jr. (Summer) Clark of Zanesville, William (Teri) Moore and Heather (Marc) Dawid, all of Newark; step-father, Virgil Clark of Newark; step-mother, MaryAnn Hupp of Newark; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie J. (Garette) Hupp in 2007; brother, Lloyd Hupp; and sister, Donna McClain.
