Jacqueline (Jackie) Potter Bennett, 81, of Greenwood, Florida, died Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Jackson Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Friday, July 26, 2013, at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel with Chaplin Darren Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Baptist Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing

The family will receive friends at James & SIkes Maddox Chapel one hour prior to the service, from 1 to 2 P.M.

Jackie was born September 12, 1931 in Chattahoochee, Florida to George Barnes and Mary Johns Potter. She graduated from Chattahoochee High School and married Richard Dennis (R.D.) Bennett of Greenwood, Florida. They had a son, Richard Dennis (Dicky) Bennett, Jr. and a daughter Scarlett Suzanne Bennett Clements.

Jackie was very active supporting R.D.'s agricultural and business interests. She was an active member of the Marianna Garden Club, the Marianna Ladies Golf Association, the Jackson County Senior Citizens Council on Aging, the Florida Cowbells Association and a member of the First Baptist Church of Greenwood.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, George Barnes and Mary Johns Potter, a sister, Katherine Jeannett Poindexter, and her husband, R.D. Bennett.

Surviving family members include Richard Dennis (Dicky) Bennett, Scarlett Suzanne Bennett Clements (Stephen) Ormond Beach, FL, three grandsons, Richard D. (Ben)Bennett, III, New York, NY, Anthony John Bennett (Daniele) Jacksonville, FL, Drew Elliot Bennett of Marianna, FL. Sisters, Eugenia Pinson (Sterling), St. Augustine, FL, Gwendolyn Ford (John), Greenwood, FL, Gloria Alday (Norton), San Antonia, TX. A brother, Eddie Potter (Carol) of Chattahoochee, FL. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jackie especially adored her grandchildren and loved Gator football, the beach, travel and her many friends. Jackie was loved and adored by many people and will be greatly missed.
